I’m absolutely thrilled to share Miski’s incredible illustrations with a wider audience. Her drawings are full of warmth and life! They don’t just look beautiful — they tell stories that spark emotions. I believe every piece of her work holds a heartbeat. She just needs a portfolio website to get out there and get her name out there too!
One of the most exciting parts? I got to reuse one of my favorite design ideas — the “peeking through a hole” concept.
Just like a secret door into Miski’s world! I loved the vibe so much, I used the artwork for the book sleeve and the main cover. Doors and holes are metaphorically similar, and it fits perfectly!
In the earlier version hosted on artist.brandingin.id, we explored a colorful narrative set in Eastern Indonesia. That version felt vibrant and adventurous. But at some point, it started to feel a bit too packed. While fun, it lacked the cool and calm presence that reflects Miski as a rising illustrator.
The best part? Miski reached out later and shared her thoughts. She wasn’t quite happy with the initial hero section — and that’s awesome! It gave us a chance to refresh the design direction. We agreed on a more minimalist style that puts her art front and center.
I refined the layout with a clean, simple aesthetic. It now allows the illustrations to truly breathe. Each artwork pops off the screen and pulls visitors into a visual story.
So, what do you think? This website is an open invitation to dive into the magical world. It’s more than a portfolio website — it’s an experience. Ready to begin your journey?
Oh — and fun fact! I used DeepL.com (the free version) to test some of the early translations during development. It worked like a charm!
